Natyarambha by Nabaneeta Dev Sen [Hardcover]

At birth, Rabindranath Tagore named her Nabaneeta. Her paternal surname was Deb, and her marital surname was Sen. Thus, she became Nabaneeta Dev Sen. She was born in 1938 at the "Bhalo-Basha" house in South Kolkata. At the age of twelve, she traveled to Europe with her father, Narendra Dev, and mother, Radharani Devi.

She graduated in English literature from Presidency College and obtained her Master's degree in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University, securing the first position in her class. The following year, she married economist Amartya Sen. She earned her Master's degree with distinction from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from Indiana University. Nabaneeta Dev Sen became a professor of Comparative Literature at Jadavpur University. Her passions included books, records, and extensive travel.

Her first poetry collection was "Prothom Prottoy" (1959), and her first novel, "Ami Anupam," was published in the 1976 Sharadiya Anandabazar. In addition to these, she authored many books, including stories, essays, travelogues, and children's literature. "Nati Nabaneeta" was her first collection of humorous writings. She passed away on November 7, 2019.

Nabaneeta Dev Sen's literary works have left a significant mark on Bengali literature, encompassing a wide range of genres and themes.
