Bangladesh's dream figure, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Even before independence, in a public meeting, the struggling leader was honored with the title of 'Bangabandhu' (Friend of Bengal) by the nation. The period from 1947 to 1971 is an extraordinary chapter in the history of this subcontinent. Among the key historical figures of that time, one of the most significant is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Immediately after the partition of the country in 1947, he returned from Kolkata, India, to then East Pakistan's Dhaka and became active in politics. He inspired the Bengali people with the ideals of secularism, in contrast to the Muslim League. Sheikh Mujib raised his voice against the decision imposed by the Pakistani rulers that "Urdu would be the state language of Pakistan." He became a victim of state oppression in the movement for the mother language, Bengali. Yet, he did not back down. He led the unity of the Bengali people. After securing the right to the mother language at the cost of blood, the struggle for liberation from the rulers' exploitation began. In that struggle, he became an unwavering leader. Amidst the rise and fall of politics, various obstacles, and state conspiracies, he announced the six-point movement, which became the liberation manifesto for the Bengali nation. Politics at that time revolved around these six points. The people roared against the oppressive rule of Ayub and Yahya, which weighed heavily like a jagged stone. Bangabandhu was the main source of inspiration for the liberation struggle of a nation. Through various twists and turns of history, with his leadership, Sheikh Mujib ascended to the seat of a great leader. He gave seven crore Bengalis the dream of independence. Inspired by his call, the Bengali people jumped into the battle and brought home the red sun of freedom. Bangabandhu, an immortal figure in history.
