The protagonist of this biographical novel, Somen Chanda, was born in 1920 in a middle-class family in Dhaka. In his youth, he engaged in literary pursuits and got involved in leftist politics. He was sincerely committed to managing the Pragati Library and forming the Pragati Writers' Association. Alongside, he worked for the labor movement. At just 21 years old, he became the secretary of the Railway Workers' Union. Despite these responsibilities, his literary pursuits continued unabated. He was the creator of several remarkable stories such as "Idur," "Danga," "Muhurt," "Satyavati's Farewell," "Akalpita," and "Andha Sribilas's Ekdin." In 1942, while on his way to an anti-fascist meeting, he was silenced by the knife of an assassin from a rival political party.
