Buddhadeb Guha, professionally a busy chartered accountant in East India, is also one of the most popular contemporary fiction writers. He began hunting at the age of ten, but no longer engages in the activity and does not wish to be known as a hunter. However, his love for the forest and wildlife remains strong, and he frequently roams the forests and jungles. Recently, he traveled through the forests of Africa. His wife, Ritwika Guha, is a renowned Rabindra Sangeet singer. Buddhadeb Guha himself once studied Rabindra Sangeet and is highly skilled in the ancient Tappa genre of music. Several of his stories and novels have been adapted for television and film.
