It all began in 1987, at the Reliance World Cup held in India. Since then, at the senior men’s level, whenever an ICC trophy is discussed, Debashis Dey is inevitably present. For the past 44 years, he has been travelling across the cricketing world as a newspaper cricket writer, meticulously documenting India’s ICC trophy journeys in various books—just as he earlier chronicled the 2011 World Cup victory.

In 2002, under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly, India became joint champions of the Champions Trophy for the first time. Then in 2013, in England, under Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India won the trophy outright for the first time. And now, under the capable leadership of Rohit Sharma, India have become champions again—this time winning every match in the tournament for the first time.

Debashis Dey has been an eyewitness to all of this. With the number of his books already crossing a significant milestone, it is only natural that readers keep returning to them—and by all accounts, there is surely at least one more still to come.
