সমাজে অনেক ভালো ভালো মানুষ আছে যাদের বয়স পঞ্চাশের কাছাকাছি, বেশি বা কম। 

'আশারীন' উপন্যাসে সেই সব মানুষদেরকেই তুলে ধরা হয়েছে, যারা সমাজে ভালো মানুষীর আড়ালে এক একজন মস্তবড় মুখোশ পরে ঘুরে বেড়ায়।

এমন সব মানুষগুলোর জন্যই আমাদের সমাজ, পরিবার অনেক সময় কোনঠাসা হয়ে পড়ে— রাস্তায়, অফিসে, বাসে বা নিজ ঘরেও।

এসব মানুষ গুলোর জন্যই প্রায় সময় পরিবারের সদস্যদের সম্মুখীন হতে হয়— অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনার।

আর সেই সকল মানুষদের মুখোশ খুলে দিতেই প্রতিটি ঘরে ঘরে এমন একজন আশারীনের জন্ম হওয়া উচিৎ।

মিজান মাহমুদ, মোকাররম মাস্টার, রেজা হায়দারের মতো আরও অনেকে আছেন যাদের বয়স পঞ্চাশ পেরিয়েছে বা তারও কম। যারা কিনা সমাজে সম্মানিত ব্যক্তি! তবুও কেন তাদের এমন নৃশংস ভাবে খুন হতে হলো? কি সেই কারণ? এই সকল কারণ জানতে হলে পড়তে হবে এই উপন্যাসটি। বর্তমান সমাজের নানারকম ঘটে যাওয়া ঘটনাগুলোর মধ্যে অন্যরকম কিছু স্পর্শকাতর ঘটনাকে কেন্দ্র করেই লেখা হয়েছে এই উপন্যাস 'আশারীন'।

'আশারীন' বইয়ের এই খন্ডটি হবে কেবল সূচনামাত্র।

Characters like Mizan Mahmud, Mokarram Master, and Reza Haider—all respectable men in society, some past fifty, some younger—are brutally murdered. But why such merciless killings? What lies behind them? To uncover these reasons, one must read this novel.
