লেখকের কলম যেমন আধুনিক এক্সপেরিমেন্টাল হররের কাছে ঋণ স্বীকার করেছে, তেমনই একাধিকবার আপন করে নিয়েছে খাঁটি ভয়-রহস্য গল্পের অন্ধকার পরিমণ্ডল নির্মাণের আদি ধ্রুপদি শৈলীকে। আর এই পথেই তিনি বাংলার ভূতের গল্পের মাটির গন্ধকেও নিজের কাজে লাগিয়েছেন।

লেখাকে যোগ্য সঙ্গত দিয়েছে শিল্পী গৌতম কর্মকারের নিপুন তুলি কালির আঁচড় আর প্রাককথন লিখেছেন মীর আফসার আলি।

In “Atanka Samagra” (The Complete Fear), author Kaushik Majumdar masterfully blends every shade of terror to craft twenty-five spine-chilling tales.

Across its pages unfold stories of vengeful spirits, a curse-stricken village lost in time haunted by the menace of shol fish, the nightmarish horrors inside a mental asylum, and dreams so dreadful that their chill lingers not only in the night but even under the light of day.

Harbabu begins to sense the odor of sudden death, an expert fisherman turns to a different kind of hunt, Sani sitting in a desolate bungalow feels a constant gnawing hunger, the ancient demoness Kuni Buni awakens once more, and Kuhu realizes that someone else can read the thoughts inside her mind.

Majumdar’s pen acknowledges its debt to modern experimental horror, while repeatedly embracing the classic style of crafting dark, mysterious atmospheres rooted in pure fear and suspense. Along the way, he also draws richly from the earthy essence of Bengali ghost stories, giving them new life in his own voice.

The stories are vividly complemented by artist Gautam Karmakar’s striking ink illustrations, with a foreword by Mir Afsar Ali.

Through every layer of the book, the author touches upon the supernatural, the otherworldly, and the psychological dimensions of fear—both familiar and unknown.
