Harshabardhan Samagra 2 by Sibram Chakraborty [Hardcover]

বাংলা সাহিত্যের অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় হর্ষবর্ধন-গোবর্ধন জুটি নিয়ে অজস্র কাহিনি লেখেন শিবরাম চক্রবর্তী। ছোটোগল্পের পাশাপাশি উপন্যাস, নাটক, চুটকি এমনকী ছড়াও তিনি রচনা করেছেন এই সিরিজে। ছোটোদের জন্য রচিত গল্পের পাশাপাশি প্রাপ্তমনস্ক লেখাও পাওয়া যায় বেশ কয়েকটি। কিন্তু লেখকের অন্য অনেক লেখার মতোই এই রচনাগুলিও বেশিরভাগ হারিয়ে যেতে থাকে কালের গর্ভে। ‘অমনিবাস’, ‘সমগ্র’ ইত্যাদি বিভিন্ন নামে পরবর্তীকালে যে বিভিন্ন সংকলন প্রকাশিত হতে থাকে তার সবই রয়ে যায় অসম্পূর্ণ। এমনকী ভিন্ন শিরোনামে সম্পূর্ণ বা আংশিকভাবে একই কাহিনিও সংকলিত হয় দুই মলাটের মধ্যে।
শিবরাম চক্রবর্তীর বেশিরভাগ লেখার মতোই হর্ষবর্ধন-গোবর্ধনকে নিয়ে রচিত কাহিনিগুলির কোনো অনুমোদিত সংকলনগ্রন্থ ইতিপূর্বে প্রকাশ পায়নি। ‘বুক ফার্ম’ থেকে এই প্রথম সেইসমস্ত কাহিনি শিবরামের প্রকৃত উত্তরাধিকারীর অনুমতিসাপেক্ষে খণ্ডে খণ্ডে প্রকাশের উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হল।
রাখা হয়েছে শিবরাম-শৈল অবিচ্ছেদ্য জুটির স্বাক্ষরস্বরূপ শৈল চক্রবর্তীকৃত মূল অলংকরণগুলিও।

Shibram Chakraborty wrote countless stories featuring one of the most popular duos in Bengali literature—Harshavardhan and Gobardhan. Alongside short stories, he also created novels, plays, jokes, and even rhymes in this series. While many of the stories were written for children, there are quite a few with a more mature appeal.

However, like many of the author’s other works, most of these writings gradually faded into oblivion. Later, various collections were published under titles such as Omnibus and Samagra, but all remained incomplete. In some cases, the same story, in whole or in part, was compiled under different titles within two covers.

Until now, no authorized collection of the Harshavardhan-Gobardhan stories had ever been published. For the first time, Book Farm has taken the initiative to publish these stories in volumes, with the permission of Shibram’s rightful heir.

Also included are the original illustrations by Shail Chakraborty, inseparable from Shibram’s unique style.
