Neel Lohit is a wandering young man whose age never exceeds twenty-seven. He hasn't found a job yet, and he doesn't seem to be interested in looking for one either. He visits places that many people in the world cannot find. Sometimes he is seen at music soirees, sometimes running after a cut kite on the streets, sometimes in the forest, sometimes at Bengali invitation houses, and sometimes in the land of the Europeans.
