In the Vedas and the Puranas, there are many deities mentioned—but some, though absent from these scriptures, are still worshipped by devotees. These are known as folk deities—for example, Manasa, Shitala, Shasthi, Dakshin Rai, and others.

Our latest anthology presents sixteen diverse stories built around the glory and legends of such folk gods and goddesses, as well as the worship of various opadevatas (lesser or spirit deities). Each narrative blends real and imagined settings, exploring different dimensions of the supernatural.
