রোজকার আলো ঝলমলে ঝাঁ চকচকে সভ্যতায় মোড়া জীবনে সাদা চোখে দেখতে পাওয়া স্থূল অনুভূতির আড়ালে মানুষের চিরাচরিত সূক্ষ্ম অনুভূতিগুলো অস্তিত্বের লড়াই লড়তে লড়তে ক্লান্ত শ্রান্ত হয়ে মাথা এলিয়ে দেয়, তবু স্বীকৃতি জোটে কোথায়! সময়ের সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে ক্যালেন্ডারের পাতা উলটোনোর আড়ালে সূক্ষ্ম অনুভূতিগুলো বিলুপ্তির পথে এগিয়ে চলে, হয়তো বা চিরতরে হারিয়েও যায়। সভ্যতার সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে সাফল্য অর্জন করতে না পারলে যে পিছিয়ে পড়তে হয়। আর পিছিয়ে পড়া মানুষকে মনে রাখার রীতি কবেই বা ছিল! অগত্যা সভ্যতা, সাফল্য, সাদা চোখে দেখতে পাওয়া অনুভূতির জয়গানের আড়ালে ভিতরের মানুষটা বাঁচার আর্তি নিয়ে মাথা কুটে মরে। একাকিত্বের চোরাবালিতে ডুবতে ডুবতেও মনের গোপনে সযত্নে লালিত ক্যানভাসে জলছবি এঁকে যায়; এ যেন আদতে পদপিষ্ট হয়ে যাওয়া অনুভূতিগুলোর শেষ চিহ্ন রেখে যাওয়ার এক অদম্য প্রচেষ্টা। সেই জলছবি ভালো করে নেড়েচেড়ে দেখলে হয়তো দেখা যায় আদতে নাম না জানা সম্পর্কের আড়ালেই লুকিয়ে আছে ভালোবাসার গভীরতম শিকড়। 
‘জলছবি’, এমনই কিছু সম্পর্কের ওঠানামাকে কেন্দ্র করে গড়ে ওঠা তিনটে মনস্তাত্ত্বিক উপন্যাসের মেলবন্ধন যেখানে আমাদেরই চারপাশের মানুষদের জীবনের ঘটে যাওয়া কিছু ঘটনা ও তাকে ঘিরে আবর্তিত হওয়া ঘটনার ঘনঘটা আরও একবার আমাদের ভাবতে শেখায়, জীবন সততই সুন্দর।
